Marching bands compete against each other based on the size of the band, not the size of the school.

We compete against bands that have more than 91 members in them.  Currently there are 19 in Arizona.

Do you know what the
  • Auxiliary?
  • Pit?
  • Battery or Percussion?

Being in the marching band is a serious time commitment, but the rewards outweigh all of it.

They perform their half-time show at all the Varsity Football home games, and occasionally away games.  They also play throughout the game from the stands to help motivate both the team and fans.

They compete at different festivals and competitions throughout the semester.

The band also performs at the Men's Varsity Basketball games.

The marching band practices every Tue & Thu from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

Festivals vs. Competitions - What is the difference?

At a festival, the band receives a grade or rating. The ratings are:

I + Superior with distinction
I Superior
II Excellent
III Good

There isn't an overall winner.
