Marching Band

The Millennium marching band is one of the largest and most competitive groups on campus. Comprised of winds, percussion, and color guard, the marching band performs at football games, competitions, parades and pep rallies throughout the fall semester. The MHS band also travels for special competition and performance opportunities. Past trips have included performances in Washington D.C., Disneyland, Hawaii, Disney World, and Ireland.

Prospective Members

Welcome! We are so excited you are interested in our program! If you're looking for a program committed to outstanding music performance, you're in the right place!

New Member Workshops

New member workshops begin in April and are geared towards preparing all members for a successful marching band season. We host seperate workshops for winds/brass, percussion, and Color Guard. We will host a new parent meeting in April to provide information to all new families entering our program. Watch our website for more details or fill our the attached form to receive updates directly to your email inbox.

Due to instrumentation numbers, some students may be offered spots in different sections (i.e. trumpet player switching to mellophone/horn). Each year the MHS Band competes among the best marching bands in the state of Arizona. In order for us to remain competitive, we must be sure our instrumentation is balanced and that all students have the greatest opportunity for success in the program.

All students are welcome to join band, so please feel free to invite others who are interested in joining! We welcome all new members, even those with no previous musical experience.

Q: Does band count towards PE credit?

A: Yes! two semesters of marching band will satisfy the PE credit requirement!

Q: Is band camp mandatory?

A: Band camp is strongly encouraged for all marching band  members. The band makes extensive progress in learning the music and drill for the fall production.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: While costs vary each year, we work hard to keep the costs as low as possible for our students. We strive for a culture of inclusion, so it is important that the program not be cost prohibitive for anyone wanting to participate. Our boosters do a phenomenal job of providing a variety of fundraising opportunities to supplement costs, and tax credits can also be used to make payments.
